Dear Amin’s family and friends,
Attached please find two photos of Amin. We took them at the Xinjiang (Western China) Hotel Restaurant in Beijing on Monday, September 3, 2012. There’s an anecdote that goes with them, and why there are two.
Amin is partially obscured in the first photo, so I asked our waiter to take another one. After we took them, Amin said that he hid behind me on purpose when we took the first picture because if he were to run for President one day, he wouldn’t want it to be known that he’d been in a Xinjiang restaurant. 🙂 So he asked me not to circulate them if he were to run for president.
