Amin’s Office in Beijing

Amin’s colleagues took photos of Amin’s office in Beijing and shared some observations. They noted:

  • How clean and neat his office was always.
  • That he took meticulous notes (in red pen!)
  • That he had selected his own Chinese name.
  • Another friend shared a note she received earlier this year about two plants that he had purchased for his office and cared for.
  • And the food he enjoyed while living in China.

Dear Sheedfar, Farzaneh, Vafa and Laila

Amin was a truly remarkable person who held high the ensign of nobility and righteousness while treading the path of life with humility and genuine concern for others, always prepared to jump to the assistance of anyone who needed a helping hand.

That God Almighty decided to call him to his heavenly abode at a time when he had travelled long distances to be close to his cousin and along with family prepare for the welcoming of little Zayn is a mystery we perhaps shall never know.

In the world of creation
life and death are inseparable
none to be without the other

Our soul – a ray of light from the sun
reflected in the nether us
a mere glint

In the world of spirit
through God’s mercy
this glint will shine
forever

Reflecting upon the mystery and praying for Amin, these words of ‘Abdu’l-Baha comes to mind:

“And now I give you a commandment which shall be for a covenant between you and Me — that ye have faith; that your faith be steadfast as a rock that no storms can move, that nothing can disturb, and that it endure through all things even to the end; even should ye hear that your Lord has been crucified, be not shaken in your faith, for I am with you always, whether living or dead, I am with you to the end. As ye have faith so shall your powers and blessings be. This is the balance — this is the balance — this is the balance.”

My heart goes out to all of you.
With much love

Borge

PS: Some recent photos of Amin from Milly’s wedding, the recent trip to the Family Reunion in Hong Kong and when visiting Nima and May at the hospital will be sent in a separate email.

Our deepest love and condolences to all the members of the Amirkia family. We will always remember Amin for his outstanding spiritual qualities of kindness, love, nobility, humility and steadfastness.  No doubt he is soaring in the light of the Abha Kingdom and showering his love upon all his family and friends.

While meditating upon his life and passing, I was inspired to set to music the following passage from the Hidden Words of Baha’u’llah in memory of Amin:

“O Son of Spirit!  Burst thy cage asunder, and even as the phoenix of love soar into the firmament of holiness.  Renounce thyself and, filled with the spirit of mercy, abide in the realm of celestial sanctity.”

From the Sacred Writings of the Bahá’í Faith

“O thou handmaid aflame with the fire of God’s love! Grieve thou not over the troubles and hardships of this nether world, nor be thou glad in times of ease and comfort, for both shall pass away. This present life is even as a swelling wave, or a mirage, or drifting shadows. Could ever a distorted image on the desert serve as refreshing waters? No, by the Lord of Lords! Never can reality and the mere semblance of reality be one, and wide is the difference between fancy and fact, between truth and the phantom thereof.

Know thou that the Kingdom is the real world, and this nether place is only its shadow stretching out. A shadow hath no life of its own; its existence is only a fantasy, and nothing more; it is but images reflected in water, and seeming as pictures to the eye.

Rely upon God. Trust in Him. Praise Him, and call Him continually to mind. He verily turneth trouble into ease, and sorrow into solace, and toil into utter peace. He verily ha
th dominion over all things.

If thou wouldst hearken to my words, release thyself from the fetters of whatsoever cometh to pass. Nay rather, under all conditions thank thou thy loving Lord, and yield up thine affairs unto His Will that worketh as He pleaseth. This verily is better for thee than all else, in either world.”

Message from the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States

October 10, 2012

To the Family of Amin John Amirkia

Dearly loved Friends,

The National Spiritual Assembly was saddened to hear of the sudden departure of your dear son and brother, Mr. Amin John Amirkia, from this plane of existence. To lose a family member, especially when the loved one is young, is indeed a trial; our hearts go out to you at this difficult hour. Yet one may feel a measure of solace, inasmuch as this soul, at the beginning of his life, had devoted himself to serving the Cause with such resolve that he may be numbered among those who, in the words of our Beloved, “have passed beyond the narrow straits of names, and pitched their tents upon the shores of the sea of renunciation.”

Please accept our deepest condolences, and kindly convey them to Amin’s extended family and others of his loved ones. Be assured that the National Spiritual Assembly will remember you all in its prayers under the dome of the most holy Mashriqu’l-Adhkár, beseeching the Ancient Beauty to breathe a spirit of healing in your hearts, and to grant to dear Amin’s soul eternal joy and progress in all the worlds of God.

With tender Bahá’í love,

Kenneth E. Bowers
